What makes something special is not just what you have to gain, but what you feel there is to lose.

"What makes something special is not just what you have to gain, but what you feel there is to lose."
(Andre Agassi)
Don’t hesitate. Sometimes in life you can’t wait: you just have to play.

Back from my first time in Wimbledon, I find wisdom on a tennis court.

When I’m with you, it always feels like the first days of summer.

"My first daughter you were my dove, my summer,
my skies lifting, my waters retreating,
my covenant with the earth".
(Eavan Boland)
When I’m with you, it always feels like the first days of summer. When I’m with you.

The bright softness of an Irish woman poet and the first day of summer. Today.

Eluard's sensuality is not lost in translation. Read it in English, and fall in love again:

"The curve of your eyes embraces my heart
A ring of sweetness and dance...".

I’m hungry to keep you close.

"I’m hungry to keep you close. I want to find the words to resist but in the end there is a locked sphere. The funny thing is that you’re not here, nothing is".
(Petrit Halilaj)
Hungry to keep you close.

Today’s words are from this year’s Biennale: at the entrance of the Kosovo Pavillion, at the Arsenale. The first time of this young Republic at the Venice's Biennale. And a young artist, who built a rough sphere of wet dark earth and branches, where you enter and wonder: is this a metaphor of longing and love?

Art does not reproduce the visible; rather, it makes visible.

"Art does not reproduce the visible; rather, it makes visible".
(Paul Klee)

Back from this year's Biennale with Paul Klee's words in my mind. In German, closer to the hidden truth of things:
"Kunst gibt nicht das Sichtbare wieder, sondern macht sichtbar".

Yes, I write. Yes, I believe in the magic of words. That’s why you’ll find me here, every Friday: Lisa “globish”!

I believe in the magic of words, and I believe Piazza Unità in Trieste, where I was born, is the most romantic square in the world. (And yes, it’s in Italy, proudly facing the sea). I love roses in every form. And, of course, I do love my blog, expecially now that I can carry it around on my iPhone.
