Because when a woman goes out of a room, she carries everything that happened in the room along with her.

"Always remember that when a man goes out of the room, he leaves everything in it behind… When a woman goes out she carries everything that happened in the room along with her".
(Alice Munro)
Because rooms whisper.

I would rather be a superb meteor, every atom of me in magnificent glow, than a sleepy and permanent planet.

Because I believe in this astral dance.

But in my life I’d rather walk on old cracking wood. Or soft, threadbare carpets.

Alice Munro, 82 years old, new Nobel Prize for Literature. I admire the way she’s been knitting, patiently, short stories, writing in the kitchen, with linoleum on the floor.

Yes, I write. Yes, I believe in the magic of words. That’s why you’ll find me here, every Friday: Lisa “globish”!

I believe in the magic of words, and I believe Piazza Unità in Trieste, where I was born, is the most romantic square in the world. (And yes, it’s in Italy, proudly facing the sea). I love roses in every form. And, of course, I do love my blog, expecially now that I can carry it around on my iPhone.
