"Can you invent new verbs? I’m going to tell you one: I sky you; because I want to spread my wings deep and wide, so as to love you without measure".
For all of our skies.
Yes, it's her. Frida, not only an artist but an icon, a myth, a woman who struggled and loved and painted her worst nightmares - and gave them the most beautiful colours. "They thought I was a surrealist, but I wasn't. I never painted dreams. I painted my own reality", she said. I just adore today's sky-words, not a declaration to her tormented love, Diego Rivera, but a letter to a poet, Carlos Pellicer. Jump over my awkward translation and read her words:
"Se pueden inventar verbos? Quiero decirte uno: yo te cielo, asì mis alas se extienden enormes para amarte sin medida".
Yes, I write. Yes, I believe in the magic of words. That’s why you’ll find me here, every Friday: Lisa “globish”!
I believe in the magic of words, and I believe Piazza Unità in Trieste, where I was born, is the most romantic square in the world. (And yes, it’s in Italy, proudly facing the sea). I love roses in every form. And, of course, I do love my blog, expecially now that I can carry it around on my iPhone.
